You were divinely designed with a yearning for unity. And yet, it’s easy to confuse the unity for which your soul longs with the false visions of unity that the world offers.
The world around us pursues tolerance and tribalism and calls it unity, but neither tolerance nor tribalism sets our sails in the direction of authentic and lasting unity. And that’s why it’s crucial to anchor our understanding of unity in Scripture—which is what I’ve tried to do in this message that I shared today with the congregation I love the most, Sojourn Church Midtown in Louisville. This message also happens to be an example of what I’ve termed “ecclesial apologetics.”
